The Zoya Factor is a romantic comedy based on the novel by Anuja Chauhan and starred Sonam Kapoor. It is a love story of an advertising executive, Zoya Solanki (Sonam Kapoor), who ends up being the lucky mascot for the Indian cricket team during the World Cup. Zoya manages to charm the team captain (Dulquer Salmaan), which makes her the ultimate romantic fantasy of every Indian girl.
Set in 1983, the Zoya Factor is based on a popular book by Anuja Chauhan. The story follows the life of junior copy editor Zoya Solanki (Sonam Kapoor) who’s lucky for a number of reasons, including a lucky charm. In the film, she mentions her date of birth and that she has been blessed with great luck because her birthday coincided with India’s first World Cup win.
The Zoya Factor focuses on a young woman named Zoya, whose parents believe she is a good luck charm. Born on the same day as the 1983 World Cup, Zoya’s parents consider her a lucky charm. She works as a junior copywriter at an ad agency and becomes a part of the team after being sent on a photo shoot with the cricket team.
As an author, Anuja Chauhan does an amazing job of creating a flawed protagonist. The protagonist is lovable and relatable, but there are times when readers might wonder how she managed to become so perfect. In Zoya Factor, Chauhan makes readers question their own motivations while at the same time ensuring that they have an enjoyable read. If you haven’t heard of her book, you should definitely pick it up!
Zoya is an extremely lucky mascot for Indian cricketers. Her boss and teammates are banking on her as a lucky charm for winning matches, but Nikhil rejects the Zoya theory. In the end, Zoya saves the day and the team wins. But, Nikhil is not happy with Zoya’s love life and finds himself attracted to her. In addition, Zoya falls in love with Nikhil.
Zoya and Nikhil meet over breakfast, where Zoya tells them about the “luck factor” and convinces the team to try her breakfast. Dulquer Salmaan’s performance in this movie is exceptional. It’s difficult to imagine a more charming actor. The other actors, however, do a decent job. A few overacting scenes were a bit much for the movie’s audience.
The plot of THE ZOYA FACTOR is fun. It pits superstitions against strategy, luck, and self-belief. As a result, it’s not without its share of funny moments. However, it lacks emotional depth. If you’re a cricket fan, you’ll be able to identify with Zoya and her struggles. But, overall, the film is a must-see for cricket fans.
